Bruce Holland - Publisher
Bruce grew up in a small fishing village just outside of Halifax. During his early working career he spent time in the sales and service sectors, prior to a ten year career in the Nova Scotia Attorney General’s Dept. Bruce formerly served as County Councillor, MLA, Minister of Science and Technology and Minister Sport and Recreation. He currently works as Executive Director of a local business improvement commission and spends as much time as he can with his three children and three grandchildren. Bruce has always been active in creating publications of one kind or another and enjoys his work leading the team at Parkview News.

Julie Forbes - Director of Sales & Marketing
Julie Hasen 026Web
Julie grew up in the small fishing village of Shelburne on the south shore of NS.  She attended the University of King's College, acquiring a Bachelor of Arts degree.  After graduating, her sense of adventure led her to backpack & travel the world for five years.  After a few years of working life, Julie became an at-home mother to her two children while living in England & Australia.  Her love of home brought her back to her roots where she worked as account manager for TC Media, HiringSmart Canada Inc., and most recently for the Star Metro Halifax newspaper.  Julie has a love and appreciation for community life and the people that live there.  Her dedication to the growth & development of communities continues with her volunteer work with FEED NS, Clean NS, school events, numerous community fundraisers, and much more.  She is a lover of the outdoors, camping, walking on the beach and being in nature are where she is happiest.  She loves to cook, paint, read, play cribbage, marbles and skip-bo and hang out with her children.  She lives in Purcell's Cove with her husband, daughter, son, Farley Mowat the dog, Millie the cat, Judy the gecko and assorted fish.

Andy de Champlain - Editor

Andy has been teaching English as a second language at a local university since 2005.  He has an undergraduate degree in linguistics and a graduate degree in education.  When not at work or home in Halifax, Andy spends time travelling with his wife and two sons, or relaxing at the cottage at Ponhook Lake.  He likes making friends laugh with Facebook comments or with comically low-budget videos.  He also enjoys chess, writing, photography, and birding.

Corey Dickinson - Layout Designer
Corey Dickinson is a graphic designer who has worked for over 20 years in print media. Many of those years have been spent working for large printing companies where both his creative and technical sides had the opportunity to grow. This December will mark the fifth anniversary of his solo design business. In that time he has developed a base of regular customers that spans five provinces and he enjoys the wide variety of opportunities they provide. Corey and his wife of 21 years agree; Atlantic Canada is a perfect location to raise a family. They always enjoy travelling with their two children, but there’s no place like home. Whether its New Year’s Eve in the centre of New York’s Times Square or an Easter egg hunt in the shadow of the Acropolis, their happiest moments are any moments they spent together.
