Having a safe working environment should be the top priority of any company or firm. This, not only make employees free from anxiety, but it helps them to think better and to be more productive as well. In connection to safety, the Halifax Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Business Support Series on December 7 at 10:00 am about preventing workplace sexual harassment. It is an open conversation where panelist will be focusing on the topics of Compassionate Listening, Art Therapy, Bystander Training, and The Employer Toolkit.

One of the panelists is Shila LeBlanc who is a queer settler, treaty land inhabitant, and practitioner of restorative facilitation and restorative justice. She founded Restorative Approach which offers restorative conflict services as well as restorative education for organizations and individuals.
We have also Evie Dunville who trained in psychology, jewelry design and metalsmithing before earning Art Therapist certification from the Kutenai Art Therapy Institute. She believes in creating a sustainable and accessible environment for creativity and wellness to flourish.
Another panelist is a freelance editor and plain language consultant, Nicole Watkins Campbell. She worked to make communication clear and effective during 30 years with the Nova Scotia government. Nicole has trained editors and writers in the field of legal and technical writing. She is also the treasurer of the Plain Language Association International and a member of Editors Canada and other plain language organizations.
Heather de Berdt Romilly, the executive director at LISNS, is also a panelist. She is a lawyer with a Master of Laws degree in conflict resolution and has extensive public sector and non-profit experience. She is the former president of the Public Legal Education Association of Canada, the first female president of the ADR Institute of Canada and a former chair member of the Avalon Sexual Assault Centre board
Last but not the least is Makayla Jodrey, the public relations coordinator for the Legal Information Society of Nova Scotia. She has experience in working with non-profits and works primarily on the Sexual Harassment in the Workplace project at LISNS.
