February is a month that is full of history, events, and celebrations. Aside from Valentine’s Day, we commemorate African Heritage Month where we recognize the enormous contributions that Black people have made, and continue to make, in all sectors of society.
The Halifax Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Federation of African Canadian Economics (FACE), joins in the celebration by hosting a Business Support Webinar Series: Challenges and Opportunities for Canadian Black Entrepreneurs.
In this series, the presenter will discuss the barriers that face Black entrepreneurs today and the resources that are available to them. FACE is a national and bilingual Black-led non-profit organization focused on providing resources and information to the Black community across Canada with the aim of accelerating wealth creation for Canadian of African descent.
The presenter if Tiffany Callendar, the President and CEO of FACE. She co-founded FACE in 2021. She is a community developer and social entrepreneur. She has spent 16 years developing and implementing community-based programs that support Montreal’s Black community in the non-profit sector. Tiffany has submitted recommendations for policy change to public institutions, notably as a signatory of Montreal’s consultation on racism and systemic discrimination as well as Quebec’s Laurent Commission regarding the overrepresentation of Black children in the Youth Protection.
This webinar is free for active and future members. It will be on February 16 at 10:00am – 11:00 am via Zoom.
