Blue Nose Marathon
Good news for all fitness enthusiasts because the annual Scotiabank Blue Nose Marathon is definitely back! This marathon has a variety of events for walkers and runners of all ages and all fitness levels. Choose from 2km Doctors Nova Scotia Youth Run to the 42.2 full marathon! Join the fun on May 21 and 22 at Downtown Halifax!
Scotia Speedworld CARSTAR Weekly Racing Series
Do you love racing? Then come and watch CARSTAR at Scotia Speedworld! The Weekly Racing Series will run from May to September which will kick off this weekend. Watch amazing cars race at Scotia Speedworld, 150 Sky Blvd., Goffs every Friday night at 7:00 pm. Also, watch for special deals, such as family pricing, or the ever-popular Kiddie Rides Nights, where kids get to “drive” around the track in a race car!
Highland Drive-In Theatre
“Highland Drive-In Theatre” as it was first called, opened in the mid 1950’s. This famous movie spot operated under many different names until it closed in 2013. Eric Barker grasped the opportunity to purchase the property. His family contemplated re-opening several times, but after six years, it was the pandemic of Covid -19 and people craving safe forms of entertainment that finally kicked them into gear! There is nothing quite as appealing as watching a favorite movie on a big screen from the safety of your own vehicle on a beautiful evening under the stars! A drive-in theatre provides a romantic and nostalgic alternative to the traditional indoor experience.
The Barker family is excited to be bringing back the beloved Drive-In, with its original name, to everyone in Pictou County and beyond. Drive now at 159 Truro Road, Westville and enjoy exciting movies with your family!
Asian Food Festival
Celebrate Asian Heritage Month with delicious meals during the Asian Food Festival! Sample specially priced food and beverages at participating businesses throughout the festival weekend.
