The Halifax Wanderers find themselves in the early Canadian Premier League playoffs race. Road wins over FC Edmonton and reigning title holders Pacific FC have the team entering July positively. Back at home, the Wanderers are the hottest ticket in Halifax, with over 6000 fans attending their last home match.
On June 30, the Wanderers hosted their first annual New Canadian Night and invited 500 newcomers to Nova Scotia to be in the crowd. With excellent corporate support around the event from Payzant’s Home Hardware, Dash Hudson and more, the club welcomed new fans from countries such as Syria, Ukraine, Russia, Lebanon, Greece and Somalia. The club proudly welcomes all new Nova Scotians to the Wanderers family.
Building strong local partnerships.
The Wanderers have brought a range of new partners on board for the 2022 season. Partnerships with Brigadoon Village and United Way Halifax have introduced new fans to Wanderers matches. Their presence at the Wanderers Grounds offers a chance to raise their profile and generate funds through ticket sales, sponsorships, and the 50/50 draws. You can support the Wanderers community partners, including Brigadoon and United Way Halifax, through match-day 50/50 draws or the new online 50/50 at halifaxwanderers5050.com.
New corporate partners, including Payzant Home Hardware, City Wide Communications and Rafflebox, have been welcome additions to the stadium. This has led to new viewing decks and support for community partners as the grounds.
Heading into the second half of the season, there is a focus on Smart Energy. AzSpecd, Greenfoot Energy Solutions, Clean Foundation, Efficiency Nova Scotia, HalifAct, Mysa, Electric Avenue and more have jumped on board to promote energy efficiency, conservation and more to Wanderers fans. Look for news on exciting events starting in July.
If you want to support the Wanderers this summer, the next home match is the club’s Pride Match on July 23rd. Details on tickets are on the Wanderers’ website: www.hfxwanderersfc.ca.
