Halifax Urban Folk Festival (HUFF)
Let’s all join the celebration of songs, their composers and singers, and the stories behind their wonderful creation. It will take place at 1685 Argyle St,. Halifax, during the last week of August, through Labour Day weekend. This is just but proper to hold this in this city because Halifax is known for its seeping with songwriting talents.
One of the festival’s signature initiatives is the “All Star” band concept. In this event they are utilizing their most valuable assets, their local musicians, to form fully-rehearsed bands for many of the headliners they bring to town.
Atlantic International Film Festival
From September 15 to 22; join cast and crew, fans and critics, and experience some of the finest immersive story-telling the east coast and beyond has to offer in the FIN Atlantic International Film Festival. This festival is an eight-day celebration of film and media from around the world. It turns this city into an international mecca for the arts, abuzz with film lovers and filmmakers alike.
They come together for a shared love in stories that reflect the human condition through drama, comedy, action, and documentaries. It’s also a chance for filmmakers and fans to exchange thoughts on the creative process and technical aspects of movie making.
2022 World Sailing Championships
This August 31, Nova Scotia will host a 400-strong field of the world’s best sailors from over 32 countries when the World Championships for three Olympic classes, the 49er, 49erFX and Nacra 17. Let’s all bring out our best in supporting the athlete because for the first time, this competition will be held in Canada.
