Our kids will always have an extra time to play. They will enjoy more if they will meet other kids and become their playmates! Here are some of the indoor play spaces and playgrounds that our children will definitely enjoy!
Halifax Public Libraries
All branches of Halifax Public Libraries have an indoor play space where our kids can play, meet friends, and get creative. You can choose the gorgeous Halifax Central Library, the beautifully spacious Keshen Goodwin Library in Clayton Park, the North Branch Library on Gottingen Street. You can also visit the Sackville Public Library which is in close proximity to Acadia Park.
Otis and Clementine Books and Coffee
A classic secondhand bookstore and café that loves fostering kittens in season. Since 2011, owner Ellen Helmke has created and operated a unique secondhand bookstore that also fosters kittens and serves delicious coffee. Her mission is to bring others joy. Ellen speaks Spanish and teaches four classes per week through the bookstore. In this store you can find comfy chairs, a beautiful Playmobil Dollhouse, some LEGO and other little toys with delicious treats! They are located at 5209 St. Margaret’s Bay Rd., Upper Tantallon.
Hop, Skip, Jump!
The largest and newest indoor play area in Nova Scotia, Hop Skip Jump Halifax has a 3,500 square foot, three-level, multi-color play structure for children ages five to twelve as well as a toddler area with a spinning palm tree, balloon carnival, trampoline, and animal merry-go-round. For waiting parents or guardians, there is a lively and well-lit coffee room for you. Visit them at 10-100 Susie Lake Crescent, Halifax, Nova Scotia (Bayers Lake).
Ice Patch Hollow Indoor Playground
The inspiration for Ice Patch Hollow came from local children’s author Brian Hiltz’s desire to write a series of books with eight amusing and endearing cartoon characters. After the success of his second book, Brian decided to create a safe, fun and entertaining indoor playground where children can enjoy Ice Patch Hollow—the home where Joey and his friend live—and learn more about the characters that are showcased in this new venue. They are located at Sunnyside Mall, Bedford and opens daily from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Get Air Indoor Trampoline Par
If you are looking for more physical activities for your kids, this park is perfect for them. They can enjoy activities such as trampoline, dodgeball, foam pit, slam ball, rock walls, and ninja course! They are open daily at 10:00 am and located at 621 Windmill Rd. in Dartmouth.
