Free Fare and Extended Services on New Year’s Eve!

On New Year’s Eve after 6:00 pm, all riders will receive free fares thanks to Halifax Transit. This is in support of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (M.A.D.D.) In lieu of fares, a donation to M.A.D.D. Halifax Regional Chapter would be welcomed. Volunteers from M.A.D.D. Halifax Regional Chapter will be at Halifax Ferry Terminal on New Year’s Eve accepting monetary donations from 7:00 pm-midnight. Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD Canada) is a charitable, grassroots organization that is committed to stopping impaired driving and supporting the victims of this violent crime.

There are also other bus routes that will offer extended services. For every 15 minutes starting at 12:54am there will be operation for the Spring Garden Route. Both Dartmouth Bridge Terminal – Departing Mumford Terminal and Mumford Terminal – Departing Bridge Terminal.

The Fairview route that includes Lacewood Terminal – Departing Water Street Terminal and Water Street Terminal – Departing Lacewood Terminal will be operating until 2 in the morning. The Crosstown route, Lacewood – Departing Marketplace & Bancroft and Marketplace & Bancroft – Departing Lacewood Terminal, will also be operating until 2:00 am.

The university route from Lacewood – Departing Lemarchant & University will operate until 2:24am for every minutes. The Lemarchant & University – Departing Lacewood Terminal route on the other had will operate until 1:37am.

There are also bus operations that will extend services but will operate every hour. The Governors Brook – Departing Mumford Terminal route will start at 11:33 pm to 1:53am. The Mumford Terminal – Departing Titanium & Traverine route will start at 10:55pm until 1:13am.

The Bayers Road Centre via Mumford Terminal – Departing from Tower Road Turning Loop will start from 1:06 and 2:06 in the morning and will have its arrival at Bayers Road Centre at 1:43 and 2:43 a.m. The operating hours of the route Point Pleasant Park – Departing from Bayers Road Centre is at 1:05 and 2:05 a.m., arriving at Tower Road Turning Loop at 1:40 and 2:40 a.m.
