Aquatic Coordinator for beaches/pools
The program’s instructional efforts will be led by the Aquatics Coordinator, who will also aid in spreading awareness of water safety issues. The program’s training will be overseen by the Aquatics Coordinator, who will also make sure that the staff’s safety monitoring abilities are up to par. Additionally, this job is a member of the program management team, and it is anticipated of the incumbent to contribute to general leadership, administration, and supervision of the program personnel and participants.
Summer Outdoor Day Camp Coordinator
This job focuses in the organization and planning of leisure activities and/or resources for a range of age groups. Designs curriculum, supports programs that assist people with disabilities. A Summer Outdoor Day Camp Coordinator also has daily responsibilities that include scheduling, supervising, motivating, and evaluating Summer Recreation Program Instructors; managing risks; ensuring participant safety; inventorying, distributing, and collecting equipment and supplies; handling administrative duties; connecting with neighborhood groups and organizations; organizing special events; and submitting regular reports.
Beach Captain
The Beach Captain oversees and promotes public awareness of beach safety. This position also carries out lifeguard duties, such as checking and maintaining equipment, carrying out safety supervision, pro-actively intervening in emergency situations, providing water rescue, first aid, and follow-up, as well as swimming instructor duties, such as instructing swimmers about risks and safety, educating them about rescues, carrying out rescues, and following up.
Beach Lifeguard/Instructor
Beach safety is ensured by the Lifeguard/Instructor through supervision and community outreach. This position also carries out lifeguard duties, such as checking and maintaining equipment, carrying out safety supervision, pro-actively intervening in emergency situations, providing water rescue, first aid, and follow-up, as well as swimming instructor duties, such as instructing swimmers about risks and safety, educating them about rescues, carrying out rescues, and following up. The lifeguard or instructor can assist program participants with personal care, lifting tasks, activity adaptations, medication administration, etc.
Inclusion Coordinator
The Summer Inclusion Coordinator is in charge of working with the Community Recreation Coordinators and Summer Managers to plan, implement, and train inclusive recreation programs for the duration of the summer. In charge of mentoring and helping summer employees with the development of inclusive program modifications to promote inclusive programming, the implementation of behavior control measures, and personal care.
Youth Leadership Coordinator
A program for developing leaders that includes training modules, social events, and volunteer opportunities is planned and carried out by the Youth Leadership Coordinator. The coordinator creates lesson plans and assists program participants with disabilities (i.e. personal care, lifting procedures, adapting activities, etc.). Other duties include managing risks and ensuring participant safety; scheduling, supervising, motivating, and evaluating Summer Youth Leadership participants; inventorying, distributing, and collecting equipment and supplies; handling administrative tasks; connecting with neighborhood groups and organizations; organizing special events and outings; and submitting routine reports.
