The Lunar New Year, according to Chinese tradition, signifies the change from one Chinese zodiac sign to the next and the start of a fresh lunar calendar year. This year, we will commemorate the Year of the Rabbit, so we may all look forward to harmony and wealth. Therefore, there is much to rejoice! Here are some fantastic events taking place in HRM and beyond that will help you celebrate the Lunar New Year!

Interactive performances, educational activities, and a sweet tasting will be provided to celebrate the Year of the Rabbit. To help Halifax commemorate this occasion, the Halifax Shopping Centre will hold a number of commemoration events and installations in collaboration with Halitube, an organization that works to connect Asian populations to regional communities in Atlantic Canada. On January 22, celebrations will begin with a Dragon Dance on floor 3 of the Halifax Shopping Center. The 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm performances of this traditional Chinese dance will give you two chances to see it.

It’s time to relax, enjoy yourself, and honor the diverse cultures and life experiences of Canadians and Mi’kma’ki. Children of all ages are invited to the Pancake Pyjama Party at the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 in their favorite pajamas and with their largest appetites.
This special occasion is a component of the traveling exhibit Kids Celebrate! at the Canadian Museum of History. This exhibit is an exciting series of activities that provide kids the chance to learn about the significance and variety of cultural holidays in Canada. Giving kids the chance to learn about the events that unite families will help them develop a feeling of community and altruism.
