Keshen Goodman Public Library, located at 330 Lacewood Drive is the second most heavily used Library in the municipality. Last year, Library programs welcomed more than 9,000 people and more than 387,000 items circulated throughout the community.
The Library opened at its current location in 2001 and has been a popular community destination for more than 20 years. In that time, the area population has doubled and is expected to continue growing.
You might have noticed some changes at the branch lately. Keshen Goodman Public Library is undergoing a renovation to better meet community needs. The renovation includes a small addition, that will increase capacity and offer more community spaces. Enhanced accessibility features are also included in the renovation. When complete, community members can expect more bookable meeting rooms, refreshed spaces for youth, study pods, and brighter spaces taking advantage of natural lighting and surrounding environments.
“This is one of our most heavily used library branches. Each day, we welcome anywhere between 1,500 and 2,000 people at Keshen Goodman,” said Åsa Kachan, Chief Librarian and CEO. “It’s vital for libraries to adapt in response to the needs of their community. Whether it’s toddlers and their parents attending story time, teens looking for comfortable hangout spaces to connect, newcomers learning English or seniors spending time together learning new skills – we want this library to be a resource for all. Renovating Keshen Goodman will help us meet the needs of a growing and diverse community.”
The branch will be open regular hours during the construction. You are welcome to visit the branch to browse, attend programs, and return materials, but please be patient as there may be periodic closures or construction noise. We are doing everything we can to limit disruptions.
