Find out about events and activities in Downtown here. Anything from tiny pop-up shops to big festivals and more can be enjoyed in Downtown Halifax.

Dinosaurs in Motion
A celebration of the power of fusing art, science, and innovation, DINOSAURS IN MOTION is more than just a dinosaur exhibition. Guests will control the movements of 14 enormous dinosaurs as they travel! Enjoy other different exhibits such as controling a 44-foot metal T-rex with pulleys and levers; discover robotics, animatronics, sound, and motors; learn about the melding of art and science; and discover prehistoric facts. They are open from Wednesdays to Sunday until April 16th.

The SpongeBob Musical
With SpongeBob and the whole community of Bikini Bottom facing the complete destruction of their underwater home, the stakes are higher than ever in this exciting stage musical. There is chaos. Existences are under danger. A most unexpected hero emerges and assumes the spotlight just as all hope seems lost. Optimism really has the ability to change the world!

The SpongeBob Musical, which has a book by Kyle Jarrow and original songs by The Flaming Lips, Lady A, Cyndi Lauper, John Legend, Panic! At The Disco, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith, Sara Bareilles, Jonathan Coulton, Alexander Ebert of Edward Sharp & The Magnetic Zeros, and Yolanda Adams, is based on the popular animated series created by Stephen Hillenburg. Songs by David Bowie, Tom Kenny, and Andy Paley are included, as are those by At the Disco, Plain White T’s, They Might Be Giants, and T.I. Jonathan Coulton contributed additional words, and Tom Kitt contributed additional music. Tina Landau came up with the concept for the musical production.

Catch the show from March 15-26 at the Neptune Theatre School.

Spring Vintage Show

The join the Light House Arts Centre as they bring together their best selections of furniture, toys, jewelry, apparel, and more over the course of two days, along with the best vintage and antiques vendors in the area.
