While I love life in general, I have to say Spring is one of my favorite times of the year! It’s a time of growth and blossoms, a time of birth, renewal and hope. There are all the smells that come along with the melting snow and then the new growth coming up through the ground. It’s a time when people, groups, and organizations, start planning for the coming year. People are out raking and planting, dusting off the cleats and golf clubs, and making sure that fishing reel is working well. People get out and start doing all those things they have been waiting to do all winter.
For me spring sparks thoughts of all the good that happens in the world. Recently, I was waiting for a loved one in the cafeteria at the QEII hospital and was reading an article in the QE Times about a program they offer called the QEII Patient Assistance Fund. It is an awesome program that helps with financial support to patients when they need it most. More often than not, an injury or illness can disrupt everyday life, and that often means a loss of income for some people. This Fund is meant to help with short term expenses and while the support is not huge (up to $1000) it can come in very helpful at a di cult time. Many thanks to the donors who are the soul reason this program exists.
Finally, you have been sending lots of comments and letters in recent weeks mostly about the Municipal Tax increases, but we want to continue the dialog about other issues of interest as well. If you have something you would like us to highlight in the coming months, a particular issue or topic, or if there is a special event or occasion you think would be of interest to our readers, please feel free to send it along and we will do our best to get it in the Parkview News.
On behalf of all of us here at the Parkview News, we wish you all a wonderful spring full of whatever it is you like to do!
