You may have seen a few recent articles in the Parkview News that we wrote on behalf of Gary Foran, the President of the Halifax Monarchs Baseball League, promoting the creation of a women’s baseball league. “Well, it has happened! said Gary, “We have great news to report. With your help in advertising our new women’s league, we were able to get over 50 women to register to play in the new league.”
“We are determined to make this a success story as the time is long overdue to have Women playing Baseball in Halifax. They are in every other sport. We expect the public will see some very exciting baseball in the coming months!”
Being the first season for this group comes start up costs. Bats, balls, catcher s gear, field rentals, umpires cost and uniforms. There is a registration fee for the players. However, we are asking for your help in finding some financial sponsors and donations. Our Monarchs organization will do our part, but we are asking for a little help to get us o the ground. If you own a local business and would like to sponsor a Team of if you would like to make a contribution to purchase equipment of if you are a supporter of women sports, please feel free to reach out to Gary and let him know how you wish to support.
