TRAVEL TIPS:
• Check your roaming plan for your phone: you may find it more beneficial, especially if you have several people travelling and need to get in touch with each other, to get a local SIM card.
• On your luggage tags, put your home address on one side and the hotel you will be visiting on the other side.
• Travel with at least 2 credit cards and a debit card. That way, if one is refused you have a backup. I have a credit card with a limit of $1500 for travel.

WHY USE A TRAVEL AGENT:
Did you know it usually doesn’t cost any more to engage a travel agent’s services. Only if you have a complex itinerary which involves customization or a lot of research, do travel agents generally charge a service fee.
Need some information on your destination/resort? Need an adjustment on your flight? Call the travel agent you have booked with.
How do travel agents get paid? The price you pay direct with Tour Operator or through an online (no service) travel agency has a commission built into it. You will pay the same regardless of source but with a local travel agent you will get more service… at the same cost! As businesses often say “support local”. The same applies to your local travel agent. We are members of your community: the commissions we earn are spent in our community.
PLANNING YOUR NEXT VACATION:
The more expensive your bucket-list vacation, the more time you should allow to plan it. Best prices are generally available a year or so in advance and when dealing with a limited supply tour (45 passenger coach tour in Italy or 150 cabin river cruise in Europe, for example) the best choice is available the further out you book. Prices for these types of travel generally don’t go down: most river cruise companies would rather their ships sail half-empty than discount their prices. So an attempt at a last minute special is highly unlikely. And the closer to departure time, the higher cost the airfare will be: the days of flight sales have come and gone, I am afraid.
