Recently, I had an opportunity to chat with world famous Thane Dunn, a Maritimer who makes a full time living performing his World Class tribute to Elvis Presley. I’ve seen him before, and he is amazing. He looks, sounds, and moves like the King of Rock and Roll and is now a viral sensation with over 4 million views on social media.
How did this happen? Thane told me that Lisa Marie Presley had just passed away and he and his wife performed a tribute to her singing In the Ghetto, they posted it to social media, and it went crazy with people saying the nicest things and most asking when they would be coming to California, England, Australia and on and on.
The interesting thing about Thane is that he is a very down to earth individual, just like most of us. When I spoke to him leading up to our chat his main concern was the things he had to do with his son. Just like most fathers that was the most important thing to him.
Thane will be bringing their show overseas next year and will be starting 2024 in Arizona for 3 months with shows in Palm Beach and Las Vegas. It’s very exciting and great to see the positive reaction we’re getting from Elvis fans worldwide.
“We are trying to bring our show to as many places that have supported us here in the Maritimes before we split. Halifax has been great to us, and our new Elvis on Tour Experience will be at the Spatz Theatre (Citadel High) this month on Saturday June 24th.”
Thane will be performing several songs they have never performed before and are taking inspiration from the 1972 Movie/Documentary of the same name with Elvis doing 15 different cities in 15 days.
