In today’s digital age, universities and colleges are seeking innovative solutions to improve communication, collaboration, and data sharing across various institutions and stakeholders.
A secure, online, password-protected learner credential wallet is made available to students and graduates through the ARUCC MyCredsTM | MesCertifTM National Network, a shared service and platform. With the use of this digital wallet, they may access and share their validated and legitimate transcripts, certificates, and academic records whenever they want, from anywhere. Documents that are securely signed using cryptography can be sent easily and don’t need to be verified further. It is the first and only national multilingual system of its sort in Canada.
Effective June 26, 2023; students and alumni of Mount Saint Vincent University (MSVU) will have direct access to transcripts via the MyCredsTM platform around-the-clock. Additional academic records, such as credentials and acceptance letters, will soon be made accessible through MyCredsTM as part of the project’s second phase.
MyCredsTM is a property of the Association of Registrars of the Universities and Colleges of Canada (ARUCC). ARUCC leads the field of post-secondary education and serves its member institutions locally, nationally, and worldwide. By doing so, it promotes the development of registrarial procedures and the provision of learner-centered services in Canada.
Students will be able to safely and quickly access and share their academic records with other schools and institutions, the government, employers, and other parties through MyCredsTM. MyCredsTM documents are valid and legally binding since they are cryptographically signed and tamper-evident.
According to Stephanie Hale, University Registrar at MSVU, since access and effect for everyone are important to MSVU, they were eager to integrate this new technology to make it simpler for students and graduates to get the necessary documents they need for their academic and professional travels.
The ARUCC MyCreds™ Project Board Director, Romesh Vadivel, said that they are excited to see MSVU join in the ARUCC MyCreds™ national network. “As one of the vanguard institutions in the province to launch on MyCreds™, students will immediately benefit from the access to their academic documents in real time, paving the way to support their journey to jobs and further studies”, he added.
Students and graduates will receive instructions on how to set up their MyCredsTM account when they request a document from the MSVU Registrar’s Office (through the transcript request form). On the MSVU website, a FAQ is accessible.
The launch of MyCredsTM by MSVU is a component of the Council of Nova Scotia University Presidents’ (CONSUP) larger strategy known as “PSE Solutions for Nova Scotia’s Future.”
