Families in Halifax are searching for enjoyable, distinctive things to enjoy together when the summer finally arrives. Look no further than the 7th Annual East Coast Kite Festival, which is organized by the Atlantic Kite Festival and promises fun, beauty, and a dash of magic.
The Indian Festivals Club of Nova Scotia (IFCNS), the sister organization of the Atlantic Kite Festival Society, was split off in 2017. The Atlantic Kite Festival Society wants to inspire people to “Fly as High as You Can” throughout their participation. This proverb can be used when flying a kite in adverse weather conditions, such as wind and rain. The adage, however, can also be used to describe actual life circumstances in which we must overcome hurdles. The symbolism and mythology associated with flying kites varies from one culture to the next and is influenced by that culture’s history. The Atlantic Kite Festival Society wants to draw attention to the fact that these civilizations all enjoy flying kites.
This open to the public, family-friendly event promises to be an exhilarating adventure that will lift everyone’s spirits. Get ready for two days of enjoyable activities and delectable cuisine on July 15 and 16 from 10 am to 7 pm, as well as a colorful display of kites in all different sizes, shapes, and colors.
An enthusiast of kites must attend the East Coast Kite Festival. Everyone is welcome to take part, regardless of their level of kite flying expertise or familiarity with the hobby. Bring your own kite and enjoy watching it flutter in the wind, or buy one from the collection offered there. To ensure that even beginners can enjoy kite flying, team members will be on hand to provide advice and help. There will be something for everyone to admire in the beautiful display of over 70 different kites. The smallest kite, measuring 24 by 24 cm, will be flown, and the largest, measuring 50 feet in circumference. The sky will come alive with floating artwork, from comical tigers and jellyfish to joyful pandas and seahorses.
This festival includes a variety of activities for kids of all ages in addition to the kites. A day of non-stop fun and laughter is promised by the Kids Fun Zone, which features bouncy castles and face painting. Watch for the announcement of a kite workshop session where you and your family may learn the craft and create a one-of-a-kind craft to take home.
Delicious cuisine is a must-have for any family outing, and the East Coast Kite Festival has you covered. There will be vendors and food trucks there serving you a delectable selection of gourmet treats. Enjoy a cheese-topped slice from Pizza Pizza, delicious snacks from Miller’s Gourmet To Go, or Abhi’s Curry N More’s flavors. In order to sate all of your cravings, Lovely Lees, Roll On Two Chimney Cakes, Jamdouns, and Smokinstein Food Truck will all be offering up their distinctive dishes.
Not to be missed is the East Coast Kite Festival at Citadel Hill, which offers a day of entertainment, kites, and delectable snacks.
