Hello Pets, your friendly neighborhood pet store in the heart of Fairview was founded by passionate animal enthusiasts Mohammad, Hasibur, and Sady. Hello Pets, is a labor of love that brings together their shared love for animals and community.
As a small independent local business, Hello Pets pride themselves on providing a warm and personalized experience for every customer and their furry companions. Specializing in high quality food, treats, and toys for dogs and cats, we are steadily expanding our offerings to cater to small animals as well.
When I recently visited Hello Pets it was evident, they care deeply for the people they serve. Mohammad was minding a pet dog of a client who recently passed away until the family could come and pick up the pet. This is definitely not something every pet store would do!
What sets Hello Pets apart is their strong community focus. When I asked Mohammad why they are different from other pet stores he said, “We believe in building meaningful connections with our clients, offering not only exceptional products and services but also a welcoming space for pet owners to mingle and share their experiences. We aim to be more than just a pet store, we want to become an integral part of the community, where people come to not only shop for their pets but also to connect, learn, and celebrate the joys of pet ownership together.”
Hello Pets marked their 1-year anniversary on August 26, 2023, and even though the weather wasn’t exactly great that day, the outpouring of support from the community was like sunshine. “It was just amazing to see so many people drop by to show their love and encouragement. Moments like that make all the hard work totally worth it”, said Mohammad.
When I asked Mohammad about why he chose Halifax to start a business he said, “What inspires me most about owning a business in Halifax is the people. When I first arrived here as an international student, this place immediately felt like home. Nova Scotians are incredibly welcoming and supportive. While I’ve had the chance to visit some other parts of Canada, there’s just something about Nova Scotia that’s hard to put into words, it’s truly special.
