Affordable Access Program
With the Halifax Regional Municipality’s Affordable Access Program you only need one application to apply for:
• Affordable Transit Passes (applications open mid-May and processed on a first-come, first-served basis)
• Recreation programming funding (applications are open year-round with no deadline)
• Property tax payment assistance (deadline of August 15 for an exemption on your final tax bill)

New Community Development Training Catalogue
Starting this spring, Neighbourhood & Volunteer Services (NVS) will offer a wide selection of FREE 101-level workshops designed to support community leaders, volunteers and grassroots organizations.

Voluntary Vulnerable Persons Registry
The Voluntary Vulnerable Persons Registry (VVPR) is a self-referral list for residents who may require support during emergency situations. The VVPR provides important information to Emergency Management staff, volunteers and first responders to help appropriately respond to resident needs in situations such as sustained power outages, severe storms, and more.
Visit halifax.ca/vvpr or call 311 to get more information about eligibility and begin the intake process.

For routine municipal matters such as reporting potholes, snow clearing, requesting traffic calming assessments, garbage collection and much more, please call 311 or email contactus@311. halifax.ca. Please feel free to copy me on your email if this is not a routine matter.
When you call 311, your request is logged and tracked to ensure follow up and action by the appropriate department. Please be sure to advise the agent if you would like to receive a follow up from staff regarding your service request.
