Book Review – The Driver, by Gary J. Fontaine
I was skimming through some old files when I found a copy of the Parkview News, Volume 5, Number 7, February 2019. In that issue there was an article about me, Gary J. Fontaine, filmmaker / writer. I thought that maybe you’d be interested in an article, whatever happened to Gary J.
I am still alive and well and living in Sackville. I’m older and thanks to covid, my hair is a lot longer. I couldn’t wait for covid to be over so I could get a haircut but then it grew on me (no pun intended) and I liked my new look. I’m still working in the movies doing a lot of background work. In the past couple of years, I’ve worked on Moonshine, Sullivan’s Crossing, and I’m a regular background person on the horror show filmed in Beaverbank, to name a few. My writing career is still moving forward, and I just finished my first novel called The Driver.
Book Review:
The Driver by Gary J. Fontaine.
The Driver is a gripping novel that immerses readers in the sultry and enigmatic atmosphere of Havana. The story follows Graham Grant, a crime writer seeking respite in Cuba, who soon finds himself entangled in a perilous mystery.
Fontaine masterfully blends elements of noir mystery, political thrillers, and crime drama, crafting a narrative that delves deep into themes of power, corruption, and survival. The novel paints a vivid picture of a world where trust is scarce, and the boundary between justice and crime is perilously thin. My goal was to sell 110 copies. I don’t set high goals and as I said in the last article that you wrote about me, I am never going to be a Hollywood director or best-selling author but I’m going to have fun with the rest of my life. You can order a copy of The Driver from amazon.ca or the Kindle edition is also available for those that like to download books. There you have it, an update on Gary J Fontaine.
Stay safe, my friends. Enjoy life to the fullest because you only get to go around once.
With appreciation,
Gary J Fontaine
