While it is actually something I try to do all the time, it’s not always easy to build people up on a consistent basis. For some reason society seems to have developed this propensity to be critical of others and promote negativity.
It is my firm belief that the world would be a much better place if we just tried to see the good in others and build them up. To do otherwise, specially anonymously or in secret, is unscrupulous at best and scandalous at its worst.
That’s why this month I would like to take the time to thank all those involved in creating the Parkview News, our columnists, graphic designers, account managers, and our advertisers, who make the Parkview News an enjoyable little local paper with predominantly local content.
In addition to all those who create the paper, it is important to acknowledge you the readers who consistently surprise us with your e-mails, texts, messages, and phone calls to tell us how much you enjoy receiving and reading the Parkview News. There are several old adages my mother used to say, “always look on the bright side”, “if you don’t have anything good to say, don’t say anything at all”, and “it is better to be kind than be cranky”. These are so true, and we would do well to invoke this attitude in our daily lives.
So, folks my wish for you this Thanksgiving is that you will have a peaceful, safe, healthy, happy holiday, and that you will find a little more kindness throughout the year.
