The Halifax Chamber of Commerce will host a Business Support Webinar Series: Ergonomic Wellness at the Home or Office. Together with industry experts, this series will focus on topics on how employees and managers can remain healthy, safe and comfortable at home or office workstations.
The participants will be introduced to Implementing health and wellness strategies; the field of Ergonomics/Human Factors; what Cumulative Trauma Disorders (CTD’s) are; and how to identify CTD risk factors.
They will also learn practical tips to use at the workstation to reduce/prevent CTDs and overall stress such as: what neutral seated posture looks like; monitor heights/use of laptops; keyboard and mouse positioning; visual comfort; reference material; recommended reach zones and more!
The Presenter is Pamela Dempster, the owner and Senior Health & Wellness Specialist of Dempster Wellness. She is a Canadian Certified Professional Ergonomist (CCPE), a Fitwel Ambassador and a Certified Master Wellness Ambassador (CMWA). She is practicing and specializing in the fields of Ergonomics/Human Factors and Employee Health and Wellness, she provides comprehensive corporate consulting services including Assessment, Education/Training and Program Development to both private and public sector organizations. She also holds Baccalaureate degrees in Occupational Therapy (Dalhousie University) and Psychology (Saint Mary’s University) for over 25 years.
