The Neptune Theatre School is providing summer camps for different age bracket, from 4-12 to 13-18. If your kids want to learn about music, movements, singing, and acting, this summer camp is definitely for them! The school provides programs focused on building skills rather than simply ‘putting on a show’. Learning from qualified instructors, they encourage their students to be EPIC – Explore, Play, Invent, and Cultivate. Their unique system of creative learning facilitates exploring, discovering, building skills, and creating confidence!
Summer Camps for Ages 4 to 12
This summer camp is a long-week camp that focuses on fun and include drama games, songs, and activities leading up to the end-of-the-week performance. Shine bright for your family and friends – these performances will be recorded and sent home to families the week following your camp! The dates for these camps are as follows: July 4th – 8th, July 11th – 15th, July 18th – 22nd, July 25th – 29th, August 2nd – 5th, August 8th – 12th, and August 15th – 19th.
Neptune Academy for Ages 9 to 13
This camp focuses on musical shows. It is an intensive camp consisting of morning skills sessions and afternoon musical showcase rehearsals that lasts for three weeks. The final show will be presented to family and friends at the end of the camp. For the 1st week, campers will be working on their dance, vocal pedagogy, acting, and audition prep. Preparations, industry standards, strength and stamina are the main focus on the second week. And on the last week they will be mastering rehearsal etiquette, creative drive, and lastly the final show. This camp will start on July 25 and ends in August 12.
Summer Camps for Ages 13 to 18
This camp is the most advanced camp which is a Pre-Pro Intensive Teen Camps for youth who are looking to explore different areas of theatre. These camps will be held at the prestigious Neptune Theatre and are a great stepping stone for their Youth Performance Company and Prep Programs.
The Youth Performance Company (YPCo) is an essential part of theatre school and the development of young artists. YPCo members attend Boot Camps, specialty workshops, participate in community outreach and work as an ensemble to create productions on the Neptune stage.
Neptune Prep is an advanced training program for youths age 16 and over who wish to pursue a post-secondary theatre education. This unique curriculum, which is currently unavailable anywhere else in Nova Scotia, trains students as pre-professional artists and prepares them to audition for college and university programs in the performing arts.
