SPRING HAS ARRIVED!
On May 23rd, Canadians will be celebrating Victoria Day, marking our unofficial start of summer as people open their cottages, get boats in the water, or simply enjoy the warmer weather and longer days.
It has been two long years since we’ve been able to partake in most of the annual festivals and events that are usually held across the riding, and I’m sure we are all looking forward to them resuming again.
After spending so much time in Ottawa lately, I’m looking forward to finally having more time in the riding to celebrate events and seeing as many of you as possible this summer!
WELCOME TO NOVA SCOTIA!
To all Ukrainians who have taken refuge here in the riding, please know that we are all so deeply sorry for the circumstances that led you to being here, although we are grateful for your safety. If it is any consolation, please realize that you have found safe haven in one of Canada’s most friendly and welcoming provinces.
Also, as Member of Parliament, it is my honour to extend sincere gratitude on behalf of the Government of Canada, to those who opened your homes to refugees and/or donated to their assistance.
PLANNING TO TRAVEL?
Expect passport delays! Due to the high demand of passport services by Canadians who are eager to confirm travel plans over the coming months, Service Canada is experiencing a significant surge of applications. This has resulted in much longer processing times. Therefore, it is recommended that applications be submitted well in advance of making travel plans. To avoid any potential issues or delays, Canadians are encouraged to renew or apply for their passport three to four months prior to your anticipated travel date to ensure they receive it in time.
