The last two years have been challenging for everyone, but Summer has arrived in Clayton Park West! The weather has been outstanding, and it is so great to see everyone out in the community again. I have been attending some incredible festivals like the Africa Festival of Arts and Culture, Canada Day celebrations and of course, the return of the fabulous Pride Parade.
As official opposition, our caucus will continue to hold the government accountable on the promises they made to Nova Scotians. The focus of our advocacy is cost of living, access to healthcare, the pandemic response, the economy, equity, and the environment. I am also committed to advocate on behalf of my constituents on those issues which matter to you.
I am receiving countless calls from constituents who are having issues accessing healthcare. I am deeply concerned about this situation and will continue to advocate to the Minister of Health on behalf of the constituents of Clayton Park West. The government must come up with solutions to help this crisis we find ourselves in. Life-saving surgeries are being postponed, hospitals are being stretched so far beyond capacity, more than 100,000 people in Nova Scotia are now without a family doctor. The current situation is unacceptable. In a special summer sitting of the legislature, we will be proposing meaningful legislation on the affordability crisis. Nova Scotians need help now to alleviate the pressure of fuel costs, high grocery costs and power bills. I was elected to serve your concerns and I will continue to bring these issues to the floor of the legislature.
If you want to keep up to date with what’s going on in the community, please consider following me on social media. I am honoured to continue to represent the constituents of Clayton Park West and I am looing forward to seeing more of you out in the community as things open up. As always, our office is here to assist you, and hear your concerns and ideas. Please reach out to our office if there is any way we can be of assistance!
