Invest Nova Scotia, Bioenterprise Canada Corporation, and the Nova Scotia Innovation Hub are pleased to announce the companies who were chosen for the most recent GreenShoots program intake. To implement their objectives, each start-up receives up to $40,000 in funding as well as business advice from seasoned experts.
The goal of Nova Scotia Innovation Hub is to hasten the development of Nova Scotia’s low-carbon bioeconomy, which will benefit the province’s entire population’s economic and environmental well-being. To carry out this objective, they establish and support best-in-class, investment-ready environments for the growth of Bioeconomy businesses and initiatives.
The goal of the Bioenterprise Canada Corporation is to promote innovation in the agri-tech and food industries throughout Canada by bringing together researchers, entrepreneurs, accelerators, and partners.
Launched in 2020, GreenShoots is an effort to help early-stage Nova Scotia startups focused on innovation in the food, agricultural, clean technology, bioproducts, and allied sectors. This is the seventh cohort of the program.
Finding and assisting high-potential, early-stage knowledge-based Nova Scotia enterprises is the aim of GreenShoots, which also seeks to promote entrepreneurship in the region. The goal of the support is to increase the ability of businesses to export goods, as well as the anticipated effects on climate change, employment growth, and economic impact generation in rural areas.
