Team Canada at the Canoe ’22 Festival
Get over to Dartmouth as it hits the global stage this month! It will host the world’s most powerful paddlers at Lake Banook for the 2022 ICF Canoe Sprint and Paracanoe World Championships. This includes our very own Team Canada so let’s cheer them on! You can enjoy this world event with a featured street festival, free concerts, local vendors, and other family activities from August 3 to7.
Shakespeare by the Sea
Enjoy the most accessible presenter of live theatre in Atlantic Canada and the largest outdoor summer theatre festival east of Montreal. Shakespeare By The Sea is dedicated to creating original works based on classic tales and legends and committed to the ongoing development of Canadian theatre artists. Watch their signature shows, Cinderelly and Hamlet, every Monday night at the Cambridge Battery, Point Pleasant Park.
Halifax Seaport Cider & Beerfest
Raise a glass for the Annual Halifax Seaport Cider & Beerfest that will feature Fizzfest this year! This year the festival is expanded to bring you a wide variety of refreshing hard seltzers, pre-mixed cocktails, and sodas for to try, in addition to their extensive assortment of delicious craft beers and cider! Enjoy the brews and souvenir glass with great tunes from DJ Lukas Stilldrunk from August 4-6 at the Halifax Seaport, 1209 Marginal Road.
East Coast Kite Festival
Fly high and enjoy the Fifth Annual Kite Festival at Citadel Hill on August 20 & 21. It’s a free and a family-friendly event so bring your kids! There will be an amazing display of big inflatable & small kites by Atlantic Kite Festival Society volunteers and kite fliers. Don’t worry about your stomach because there will also be food trucks and food vendors nearby. You can also let your kids enroll in Kite Crafts Workshops & Kite Flying Lessons. The Bouncing castles for kids will also be back this year!
Clam Harbour Beach Sandcastle Competition
HRM is pleased to host once again the Clam Harbour Beach Sandcastle Competition for its 42nd year! The event will take place on Sunday, August 21, 2022 at 158 Beach Road, Clam Harbour with gates opening at 9:00am. You can also join the competition and get a chance to win prizes for various categories. This competition attracts over 10,000 people every year to the Eastern Shore of Nova Scotia for its marvel at jaw-dropping sandcastles and artistic sand sculptures lining the shore. So, bring your glasses and sunscreen and join the fun!
